Embark on an excursion into Hungary’s history along the Blue Danube (3 historic places in 1 day).

After a free pick up from your hotel we make a short visit by airconditioned bus to Slovakia and drive back to Esztergom, the Center of the Catholic Church in Hungary - visit the Cathedral and after go on a tour around Visegrad the former Royal Residence where you can admire a great view on the Danube Valley. Here, enjoy a Lunch (3-course menu with 1 mineral water) before we carry on to Szentendre. In the Artist’s village you can enjoy a guided walk. At the end of the tour return to Budapest on the Danube by public scheduled boat (Duration: 1 hour) – the tour ends at the Pier/City Centre.

Overall, an interesting tour. However, we had a very noisy group sitting at the back of the bus making so much racket that the Tour Guide was difficult to hear. She seemed unable to control their noise. Don't expect much from the lunch provided, as it is a cheap affair. The boat trip was also shorter than expected.

The guide took good care of us and his experience helped in providing the right atmosphere to absorb the historical facts . The lunch restaurant was great , way different from normal case -- a great view and good food.

The tour was well-organized and ran on time. The highlight of the trip for me was the view of Ezstergom from the Slovakia side (as shown int he picture). Lunch was fantastic, even for my picky vegetarian self, on top of a scenic mountain. Had a sample of Palinka to boot! Szentendre was more about shopping, while the cruise back to Budapest was good though not especially scenic. Do this trip if you have a day to spare and would like to check Slovakia off your list.

Danube Bend visited sites mostly outside of Budapest. It was a good tour and we saw many beautiful places. The only drawback was having two languages on the same bus so all narration was done twice.

It was a good tour but the guide talked to much about churches and old times. Nothing about Hungary today. The guide was also a little bit to self centric and was offended if a members did not give her full attention. Good tour, bad guide.
