We thoroughly enjoyed this bike tour! There were various stops along the ride which allowed us to briefly rest and rehydrate. We saw so much of Hamburg yet the ride was not strenuous at all. After learning so much about the city and it's history from our guide, Backy, we wanted to see and do more!
We were recently in Hamburg for only one day. Our scheduled bike tour was at 2:30pm, so we had the day to explore. We walked around the city for about 5 hours seeing many of the famous sites. After walking around for so long, we thought that the bike tour would be a waste because we felt we had seen a lot of Hamburg already. We were very wrong. Our tour guide, Phil, was extremely knowledgeable and took us to many sites we would never have found. He told us the history at each stop and took us to new and old places in the city. He was great! I was nervous about the tour because I was tired from walking for 5 hours, but there were many stops as Phil talked about each area. I'm not sure how he did it, but there were not many hills either. I would highly recommend this tour if you only have one day in Hamburg or at the beginning of your stay if you have several days. It gives you a good picture of this beautiful city.
We showed up at 10:15 - 4 hours before the tour was actually going to happen. It would have helped if the website was clear about when the German tour started (10:30) and when the English tour started (14:30.) An employee was nice enough to direct us to the #16 ferry to ride fo free. We filled our time with that and lunch. We came back at 14:15 and Denise greeted us and set us up with bikes. They were not as good as bikes we had in London or Paris, but were ok. My daughter's bike had to be changed out within a few hundred meters due to a chain issue. Denise was well-intentioned, but lacked the mastery of English or knowledge of Hambutg to provide meaningful value to the tour. I liked her, but that didn't overcome her inexperience. There was no briefing of any kind about the bikes, safety, or tour mechanics. It was, simply, get on your bike and follow me. It seemed we missed some landmarks (e.g. the German WW2 Memorial) and stopped at others of lesser significance (e.g. the old warehouse district and the church dome area.) It was hot and over 2 hours before we made a water stop. Denise rarely checked on people (one family had some issues with their young son) and several times we were separated by red lights. She eventually stopped, but I think people were stressed / anxious. I think bikes are the way to see Hamburg. You can cover lots of ground. But, compared to London and Paris, this tour was subpar. It could be a really good tour with some tweaks.
Best bike tour ever done! Bertrand was a fabulous guide. Hamburg is the perfect city for riding a bicycle. A good way to do sightseeing. Thank you
Good tour but bikes need to be better.

Great tour!! Our guide, Flo was intelligent and knowledgeable. This was a good for sight seeing as well as getting some historical perspective on Hamburg and Germany.
We really enjoyed our ride around Hamburg. It is a great way to get to know the different city neighborhoods. Tim, our guide, was very friendly and informative.
The bike tour was really interesting. It gave a great prospective of the City and its history. Our guide Tim was cordial, informative and a pleasure to be in the company of. It was a fun afternoon and I would highly recommend it to other travellers.
