The water puppet show was ok, a bit average. The old town walking tour was fantastic. Got to see behind the scenes living quarters and alleys that we would never have found. Our guide was excellent. Highly recommend the walking tour

Tickets for the water puppets were waiting for us at our hotel when we checked in - just as promised. We had a great ad-hoc little walking tour with our guide after the show, just the two of us. Our informative and friendly guide introduced us to some typical Hanoi street food and beer in a local streetside place, something we would nver have done on our own.

We did this tour on the first night and it was an excellent addition to the water puppet show tickets. The water puppet show itself is worth checking out but the tour afterwards of the old quarter was a bigger highlight. I recommend doing this early on in your visit, especially if you are staying in the Old Quarter!
