Om den här aktiviteten
Once the target of chemical warfare and now resplendent with acres of mangrove forest, the UNESCO-designated Can Gio Biosphere Reserve, located south of Ho Chi Minh City, is teeming with wildlife and biodiversity.
After meeting your guide in your hotel lobby, you’re transferred to Ho Chi Minh City’s central pier in the morning. Then depart by luxury speedboat for the lush, green tributaries of the Mekong Delta. A light breakfast of pastries or sandwiches, tropical fruit and Vietnamese coffee is served on board as you relax in spacious comfort during the approx. 2-hour journey into Can Gio.
En route, your small-group tour visits the bustling Can Giuoc Market, which provides great photo ops of a traditional riverside market scene where you can sample the local produce. After you depart, the slow-paced agricultural world of the Mekong Delta begins to give way.
Cruise past a tapestry of green paddy fields, tropical fruit trees and water palms and move into a landscape of mangrove trees looming overhead. Once inside the reserve, listen as your guide discusses one of Vietnam’s most important ecosystems, which provides a habitat for 52 flora species and 200 fauna species.
Visit traditional fishing hamlets, where fishermen knot their nets by hand by the river, and then take to the tranquil waters of Giant Bat Lagoon by rowboat. After a short, guided trek through the mangroves, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a private riverside location, including fresh spring rolls, lemongrass chicken and a delicious Mekong Delta specialty.
In the afternoon, arrive in Vam Sat Eco Park, where you can visit a crocodile reserve (and feed them via a fishing rod if you wish) to learn about the once-plentiful crocs that were hunted to near extinction. Be sure to keep an eye out for gibbons and monkeys swinging from trees in their natural habitat. Enjoy crab fishing and bird watching for local and migratory species, including painted storks and duck-billed pelicans, or take another mangrove jungle walk with your guide.
At the end of your full-day tour, depart Can Gio’s mangroves for Ho Chi Minh City, arriving back at the central pier where you’re taken back to your hotel by air-conditioned vehicle.

A nice trip that combined both a tour of the area around Ho Chi Minh as well as some up close and personal time with nature. You'll get to see the City itself from a different viewpoint than on the city streets and then head out into the nature reserve to spend time with monkeys, birds and crocodiles. Cap it off with an excellent meal before a return to the city. We had a fairly small group compared to the potential limit, so we had ample time at each location along with real direct interaction with our excellent guide, Henry. Nothing felt too rushed or hurried. We also had more than enough time at the crocodile feeding portion of the trip as opposed to the experiences of other reviewers and were each able to feed multiple crocs multiple times. If anything we maybe had a little too much time with the bats and at the bird sanctuary. Maybe if you were really into bats or birds it would have been more enjoyable but I personally found those parts of the tour to drag a little.
This tour was very good. All the staff were friendly and professional. Cah our guide really knew his stuff and tthe boat was amazing I am really confident in recommending this tour.
A great day out. I was not one hundred percent happy on the small pontoons feeding the crocodiles, I would rather have been on something more substantial! lol.
Booked this tour to hopefully see a bit more of the life outside Ho Chi Minh and this tour did not disappoint. The tour crew were helpful friendly and considerate, ensuring we were well fed and refreshed all day. We were updated regularly as to what would happen next and what we could expect and the experience was a pleasure. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone especially if you only have time for one trip, do this one it will give you a snapshot of South Vietnam.
Very interesting. Kept us busy doing various things. The monkey and crocodile visit was exciting. Both
Outstanding tour. Our guide Hao was exceptional. Visiting a local market was a highlight. There were no other tourists there and Hao was very informative about the local produce and products. The mangroves and bat viewing was interesting. Visiting the monkeys and crocodiles was exciting. Our four children aged between 15 and 5 years thoroughly enjoyed the all day tour. I did not feel they were in any danger with the monkeys or crocodiles whilst on the tour with Hao. The speed boat added to the excitement and adventure. This tour is worth the extra cost. This was one of our favorite trips in Vietnam.
