4-Day Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor from Hurghada

Your 4-day Nile cruise experience begins with early pickup in Hurghada, followed by boarding of your ship in Aswan. Your modern ship boasts a sundeck, swimming pool, lounge, bar, and restaurant serving international buffet cuisine. Your cruise is full board, and includes site tours with an Egyptologist guide. Choose a double cabin or upgrade to a triple cabin on booking.

Day 1: Hurghada - Aswan (L, D)

After early Hurghada hotel pickup, travel by air-conditioned vehicle through Egypt’s heartlands to Aswan, the departure point of your Nile cruise.

After about 8 hours, transfer to your cruise ship for your 3-night cruise. Then, following check-in, set out with your Egyptologist guide to explore the beautiful, island-located Philae Temple, and see Aswan’s two dams: the Low Dam built in 1902, and Aswan High Dam, a monumental dam completed in 1970 that created Lake Nasser.

Afterward, return to your ship, and enjoy lunch and the rest of the day and evening at leisure, with dinner aboard tonight. Spend the night on board at Aswan.

Day 2: Aswan - Abu Simbel (optional) - Edfu (B, L, D)

Early this morning, optional take a dawn trip to Abu Simbel Temple (additional cost). Today, your ship will sail to Kom Ombo and Edfu. On arrival at Kom Ombo, take a guided visit of the temple, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek. Afterward, enjoy the ship’s facilities such as the sundeck and pool, and this evening, enjoy dinner aboard as you sail toward Edfu. Tonight is on board at Edfu.

Day 3: Edfu - Luxor (B, L, D)

After breakfast, visit the Temple of Horus, dedicated to the falcon-headed god, Horus. Admire this relatively young building, considered the best-preserved of Egypt’s cult temples as your guide explains its history and symbolism.

Then, cruise to Luxor, passing Esna on route, and watching daily life on the riverbanks. In Luxor, have dinner on board and opt to attend an evening Sound and Light Show at Karnak (additional cost). Tonight on board in Luxor.

Day 4: Luxor - Hot Air Balloon Ride (optional)

Valley of Kings - Karnak (B)

In the early morning, take an optional hot air balloon ride (additional cost) over Luxor’s West Bank. After breakfast, disembark your ship for a full-day West Bank tour, starting at the Valley of the Kings, where the mountains are burrowed with pharaonic tombs. With your Egyptologist guide to help you choose, visit three of the richly decorated underground mausoleums, and if you wish, and depending on availability, go inside Tutankhamun’s Tomb (additional cost).

Next, see the Temple of Ramses III (Medinet Habu), and Colossi of Memnon before finishing with a guided tour of Karnak on Luxor’s East Bank. This massive complex is dedicated to the god Amun, and considered the jewel in Luxor’s crown.
