4 days
Om den här aktiviteten
Day 1: Kathmandu – Chisapani

Meet your guide at the tour office in the morning, and then take a 1-hour drive to Sundarijal, located on the outskirts of Kathmandu. Along the way, enjoy views of the hilly, forested terrain of the Kathmandu Valley. After your vehicle arrives at your first destination, hike with your guide up a long staircase that follows the water pipeline to the entrance of Shivapuri National Park. Take in the scenic beauty of your surroundings, where pine and oak forests mix with rhododendrons and a variety of orchids. As you continue your trek along the staircase and past the water reservoir, learn about the unique wildlife that is protected in the park, including sloth bears, leopards, wild boars, and Indian porcupine.

When your group reaches the village of Mulkharka, your guide will assist you to find a simple lunch in one of the wayside shops (all meals at own expense). After approximately 5-hours on your first day’s trek, emerge from the wilderness and head into the village of Chisapani. In the evening, experience Nepali culture at an authentic teahouse, where you can purchase dinner and interact with the locals.

Overnight: hotel or teahouse lodge in Chisapani

Day 2: Chisapani – Nagarkot

After breakfast, prepare to hit the trail for a 7-hour hike. Take in the magnificent panoramic views of the dramatic and steep Himalayas en route to Nagarkot. When you arrive in the town after a full day of hiking, take the weight off and relax for a leisurely evening.

Overnight: hotel or teahouse lodge in Nagarkot

Day 3: Nagarkot – Bhaktapur

After breakfast at the teahouse, hike down toward the medieval town of Bhaktapur. Stop en route at Nepal’s oldest temple, Changu Narayan. Then, follow a scenic route through terraced rice fields, small villages, and pine forests, switching back and forth between the wilderness trail and a countryside road for approximately five and a half hours.

Arriving in Bhaktapur, take a leisurely stroll around town on your own, experiencing its charm and character. Located along the ancient trade route between Tibet and India, Bhaktapur was founded in the 12th century and is replete with pagodas and terra-cotta monuments, as well as fascinating palaces and temples. Feel free to ask your guide for any dining suggestions or recommendations of top attractions to see during your free time.

Day 4: Bhaktapur – Kathmandu

Upon awakening in Bhaktapur, enjoy a free morning at leisure. Hang out at a teahouse or visit the temples, admiring their gilded roofs, intricate carvings and open courtyards. Or, simply catch sight of more gorgeous views of the Himalayas before returning to Kathmandu by minivan around 1pm.

This tour includes 4 days, 3 nights. You start off meeting in Thamel, then driving about 45 mins to the hike start point. This morning is pretty much all uphill. Lunch was daal baat at a local restaurant. Overnight in Chisapani, which has beautiful views on both sides of the ridge. For Chisapani, we stayed at a basic guesthouse. Be sure to bring a towel, toilet paper, soap, and a sleeping bag liner or sleeping bag. They provide a modest blanket and pillow. Dinner was daal baat. The next morning you hike on the side of mountain to Nargokot. The morning is a long hike, a few hours, followed by another few hours. Lunch was at a guesthouse daal baat. Overnight in Nargokot at Hotel Country Villa, which overlooks a huge valley. It was super nice. Recommend purchasing the buffet dinner and breakfast. The next day is an easy hike out of Nargokot, where you will pass through several villages. Feel free to ask to stop and meet the villagers, buy some of their tea, or learn about locally brewed millet wine. I skipped the temple hike, which adds a few hours. We arrived in Bhaktapur around lunchtime. I was free to get lunch on my own. Bhaktapur is very in tune with the tourist industry. Thus, there are several Western style eateries usually at hotels. That afternoon, my guide showed me basic things in Bhaktapur, which reminded me of an ancient Italian bricked city. My guide then let me explore on my own. Be sure to venture off the tourist trail to see how life is really lived. Don't be afraid to get lost. Overnight was at a Bhaktapur hotel which overlooked Taumadhi Square. Bhaktapur is very touristy, so be sure to bargain for gifts. If you want a good gift for everyone back home, buy them an incense holder in the clay square, these run about 20 NR for one small one. The next day, I was free to explore on my own, then I met up for lunch with my guide and I was taken to the airport. Other items: there is a porter until Bhaktapur, be sure to tip him.

Good for trekking enthusiasts. Around 6 hours daily of serious trekking through a good mix of national park, rural villages, farm land and mountaineous terrain. Average pace allowed adequate water/rest breaks and lunch to recharge. Stayed overnight in one teahouse and two hotels. Hotels were comfortable and more than expected. Teahouse was basic with attached bathroom but has no air-con and hot water, hence be prepared. Food was satisfactory. Guide and porter were knowledgable and helpful. Last day at Buktapur allowed tour of historical town and shopping. Overall a well planned itinerary.
