En dagstur från Las Vegas till Hooverdammen ska ske i lyx – bli hämtad vid ditt hotell i Las Vegas i en specialutrustad Hummer H2 och åk söderut till Hooverdammen. På vägen kan du titta på en DVD-film om dammen. Du matas med snabba fakta under resan, som går genom staden Boulder, förbi Lake Mead och passerar porten till Black Canyon. På resans mål är du redo för Discovery Tour.

Utställning på biografplanet: Gå omkring bland fotografier, väggmålningar och montrar som dokumenterar Hooverdammens historia. Titta på videofilmen How the West was Won, som beskriver Bureau of Reclamations roll i arbetet med att odla mat och tämja floderna och öknen.

Kraftverkets generatorer: Dammens hissar tar dig 152,4 meter ned i Black Canyon, där du får gå genom den 76,2 meter långa tunneln som borrats i berget. Du får se kraftverkets Nevada-flygel, som är 198,12 meter lång, och dess åtta generatorer.

Utställningsgalleriet: Ta dig upp till Plaza-planet och se utställningarna om regionens naturhistoria och om hur dammen drevs förr och hur den drivs idag.

Glöm inte kameran – utöver den vackra utsikten kan du ha tur och få se tjockhornsfår.

I den totala tiden för rundturen ingår hämtning och avlämning vid hotellet och restiden till och från dammen. Du tillbringar cirka två timmar vid dammen

The name is a misnomer: It should be the "Hoover Dam Hummer TAXI". The company in NO WAY provides "ANY PART of a TOUR ." Just provides a RIDE where YOU PAY for GAS get to the Dam! Also don't be mislead about seeing "wildlife" --- NOT! The guide "drops" you off -- gives "confusing directions" then tells you "when and where" to rendevous with them. Do not EXPECT any "CATERED SERVICE" cause there is NONE! The DAM Security / staff are completely in charge as they "coral you around Power Plant like cattle!" In addition, the guide was LATE picking us up which in turn ATE AWAY at time we could have spent actually "WALKING ON THE dam DAM! " --- which is REALLY the BEST PART of the "so-called" TOUR ! One could probably save money by renting a car and just driving themselves --- basically the SAME SERVICE you get from THIS TOUR!

The trip did not get off to the best start as we were told the lifts at Hoover Dam were not working and we could not go inside which was very disappointing. Apart from that we had a great trip and enjoyed the experience. Our tour guide - Randy was an absolute wealth of knowledge on the Hoover Dam , Las Vegas, Boulder and the Mojave desert. He was a really friendly guy , made every feel at ease and made the trip memorable. It didn't take long to get to the Dam and we had plenty of time to explore and take photos. On the way back we stopped in Boulder City and saw the wild Big Horn goats. The ride in the Hummer was great and a very comfortable way to tour. I'd definitely recommend Big Horn Hummer Tours and this trip.

This was definitely worth the cost of the tour! My 9 year old son and I wanted to go check out the Hoover Dam, so I booked online before we left for Vegas. Our guide Tom picked us up at the hotel in the Hummer, gave us a great history of the area and the dam on the way, then gave us specific instructions on how to beat the crowds, where restrooms were, etc. After the tour, Tom was right there to drop us back off at the hotel. Strong recommendation!

Loved every minute! Randy was a great guide. Highly recommend this trip. Very informative and was back in Vegas by noon.
