Efter den tidiga upphämtningen från ditt hotell i Neapel, möter du guiden och reser vidare med minibuss på den 35 minuter långa resan till den antika romerska staden Pompeji, en plats som upptagits på UNESCO:s lista över världsarv.
Det var här – en sommardag år 79 f.Kr – som Vesuvius hade ett utbrott och spydde ut vulkanaska över den välbärgade staden Pompeji. Helt omedvetna om den förestående faran fortsatte de flesta med det de höll på med. Följden blev att hela staden och cirka 20 000 av invånarna begravdes under tusentals kilo aska och brännhet pimpsten. Nästan 2 000 år senare är den antika staden Pompeji fortfarande välbevarad och föremålen som visas upp här ger en fascinerande inblick i livet under romartiden.
Ni går in på den antika platsen med guiden där ni får se husen, gatorna och de offentliga byggnaderna som legat i en tidskapsel under vulkanaskan.

Se Pompejis antika torg och stadskärna, där affärer skulle bedrivits och där val, tal och processioner skulle ägt rum under romartiden. Gå runt på platsen, beundra de antika kalkstenspelarna som fortfarande står kvar och föreviga de antika vyerna med kameran.
Fortsätt vidare med guiden till termalbaden, där många stadsbor skulle ha badat, umgåtts och levt sina liv före vulkanutbrottet. Gå längs Via degli Augustali och ta en titt på Lupanare, Pompejis bordell. Lupanare är en tvåvåningsbyggnad med fem rum på vardera våningen, som har utsmyckats med några av stadens mest lustfyllda freskomålningar.
Utforska Casa dei Vettii (Vettis hus), ett lyxigt hem i staden. Vid de omsorgsfullt utförda utgrävningarna som gjorts har vackra freskomålningar på husväggarna hittats, vilket är ett tecken på att de tidigare invånarna var både välbärgade och hade hög status.
Den exakta rutten beror på om det är många besökare den dagen och på väderförhållandena. När besöket i Pomepji är slut reser ni tillbaka till Neapel med minibuss, där turen avslutas.

A well organised visit with a really great guide at Pompey. We arrived at Naples dock with a lot of luggage (on our way back to the UK) and wanted to finish the tour at Naples Railway Station. The tour company organised all that and transported all our luggage

Lisa, our tour guide was great! Her English was great, she enunciated and was easy to hear and understand, and her enthusiasm was a plus! She also added a little humor, which was fun. It’s a quick trip, but long enough to see the main highlights, as well as shop for souvenirs. Our driver was friendly as well, and the Viator customer service rep was prompt and helpful when I called to confirm my hotel pickup. Would definitely recommend

Pick up / travel was easy. Great to visit Pompei. Our tour guide was average and some of her information was inaccurate. We were not shown some highlights that we later discovered on a walking tour app. Too bad.

Pompeii 2hr tour small group- excellent tour guide, she really watched out for us making sure others didn’t butt in front of us, in the more crowded exhibits. She was knowledgeable, patient with our questions.

We had a fantastic guide -- I forget her name but she was extremely easy to understand as she made an effort to really annunciate important facts. Extremely informative and never skipped a beat while navigating us through the ruins. She had a comment, story, or fact for anything and everything that we passed by. Could have used an extra minute or two for photos, but I understand the avoidance of holding up the tour. If you want photos, make sure to stay back for a minute and take some while still listening thru the provided speaker. Hotel pick up and drop off was coordinated very well and we had no problems at all. Would highly recommend this company and tour.

Thank you! Our 1/2 day tour was very organized and totally worth the low cost. A small shuttle picked us up in front of the hotel, on time and provided a safe transport to Pompeii. Our tour guide was very informative and funny. The event included the cost of the entry and a 2 hour plus tour of important history with current tidbits about Pompeii. The tour concluded with transportation back to our hotel. I’d recommend this to anyone visiting Naples and wants a stress free visit to Pompeii.

This was my favorite of all the scheduled “informative” tours we took while in Italy. Our guide Maria spoke good English but I so appreciated her speaking slowly so we could understand through her lovely accent and the earpiece. Tip : consider brigibg your own to plug into the transmitter sets- might offer better sound. The day was HOT but Maria kept this tour going at a comfortable pace, doing a nice job describing a visual picture of what this once thriving city was like. She even drew references to modern day living and how the “ancient” folk had their own system of GPS and fast food. Even our teenagers remained engage for most of the time :)

We did this tour in April. With such large numbers of tourists the company did a good job of organising us and were very helpful. Overall it is a professionally facilitated tour and you get the main headlines about Pompei in half a day as you walk around the city ruins. Dont expect customised service or time to reflect, ask questions or have personal interactions with the guide because they have a fixed formula and strict timetable to adhere too. Be prepared for crowds at every turn or go in a low season if there is such a season at all!.
