A trip into the 14th century invites you to visit a majestic Gothic castle founded 650 years ago by Charles IV, King of Bohemia and of the Roman Empire. The castle was built in the 14th century as a place for safekeeping of royal treasures, especially the coronation jewels. Located in a picturesque site on the Dragon´s rock in the middle of dense forests just about an hour´s drive from Prague, for many visitors this is one of the most popular destinations. A good castle not far from the city. The climb from the car park is steep, and we were glad that we opted to take the horse cart.

Great day out. Beautiful sights and historic castle. Took the horse and cart ride up to the castle which was a nice touch. The hill is very steep and you would need to be really fit to walk it. Back in Prague for 3pm to enjoy a nice lunch and a few drink in the old square near to the drop off point. All in all a very nice trip. Guide was freindly and informative. I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves historic castles.
