The Cradle of Humankind is a paleoanthropological site about 50 km (31 mi) northwest of Johannesburg, South Africa, in the Gauteng province. Declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1999.

Visit Maropong Museum and Sterkfontein Caves in the Cradle of Humankind world heritage site, which is one of 8 in the country.It is the worlds richest hominin site, home to around 40% of the worlds human ancestry fossils.
