Stop At: Bavaro Beach, Punta Cana Dominican Republic

Hop aboard an open-air safari-style truck from your Punta Cana or Bavaro hotel, and set out into the Anamuya mountains. During the rollicking ride, soak up the stunning seascapes and tropical countryside, dotted with pastel-colored cottages. As your knowledgeable guide provides engaging commentary, look out for horses, donkeys, hens and bulls grazing or resting in the shade.

Then, take to the lush agricultural landscapes by horseback, on an easygoing 25-minute ride through the sprawling grounds of a trapiche, or classic sugar plantation.

In addition to rum, the Dominican Republic is well-known for its cigars. At the trapiche, listen to generations-old master craftsmen explain how they harvest tobacco and roll them into sought-after cigars.

Break for lunch at a mountaintop restaurant pavilion, and dig into a delicious buffet with refreshing beer, smooth rum and non-alcoholic drinks to accompany your meal.

Then, visit a typical Dominican home to meet a local family and taste beloved treats such as just-plucked tropical fruits, freshly brewed organic coffee and pure cacao. Want something with more kick? Try a mamajuana, a Dominican drink of rum, red wine and honey.

Continue to Macao Beach where you will enjoy rest and relaxation at a private beach club. Take in the turquoise waters and white sand beach that will make you feel like you are in paradise.

The tour was amazing. The tour guide was funny and very knowledgeable. The tour guide and the bus driver Junior were great. They made the cultural experience come alive. I highly recommend this tour .

The best part of the tour is the lunch!! It was great Dominican Food! The food at my resort was awful so I was happy to get food here! Also the horse back riding and cigar making was awesome too! And the beach is nice! Be prepared to spend the whole day on this tour I left hotel at 830am and got back at 4pm!

One of thee best excursions available.The staff for the excursion was beyond hilarious and very informative.You get to experience alot of different aspects of DR culture and ways.The food was excellente,the making of cigars was remarkable.Hell yeah I would recommend this excursion

This tour was amazing. The tour guide was very knowledgeable of the route and all of the stops. Maria's house was very interesting. She was friendly and very pleasant. Planning to return back in 2017 and will take this tour again.

This was a great excursion and I appreciate the company calling me at my resort to see if I wanted to reschedule after they had to cancel the excursion on the day we went due to dangerous roads with water and blockage of the bridge we needed to cross. I loved it all except the horseback riding part. The way the excursion reads leads you to believe you will take the horses up a mountain. The terrain we were in was extremely muddy and nothing to really see it was just a big field and the horses seemed tired. So that part was a little disappointing. It would have been better if we actually went on a real trail or along the beach. Also at least been advised to bring proper clothing for getting all muddied up. Other than that this was a great way to spend the day and our guide MiMi was WONDERFUL!!!!! If you want to see a little bit of everything from the beach, the mountain, real coffee, cigars, and souvenirs this is the thing to do!
