Compare its ostentatious design with the more refined simplicity of nearby Kazan Cathedral, and then head to the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood – one of the city’s superstar sights. Pose for photos against its candy-colored façade and explore inside while hearing tales of Tsar Alexander II, a reformist assassinated on the spot where the church was later built.

This tour was exactly what we wanted and the perfect way to start day one of our trip to St. Petersburg. Anastasia was a great tour guide, picking us up at our hotel and taking us on a well-paced, well thought out, coherent and interesting tour of the city. Our first stop was on a bridge above a canal where she explained the history of the city. We saw many sites, most notable being the Church of the Spilled Blood and St. Isaac's Cathedral, which she described in wonderful detail and really helped us understand their beauty and meaning to the city. She not only gave us local insight into what we were seeing and answered our many questions, she handled all entrance fees and logistics so we had a completely hassle free experience. I would highly recommend this tour.

Irina was an excellent guide and we thouroughly enjoyed our time with her. Her knowledge of St Petersburg was second to none, she took time to take us off the beaten track and our walks along the canals were very enjoyable.
