Santa Cruz de Tenerife half-day tour at your own pace
The tour focuses on the city of Santa Cruz, located northeast of the island, between the Anaga Massif and its own bay. It was founded on May 3, 1494 to reach the place where the conqueror of Tenerife (Advanced Fernández de Lugo) nailed a cross,this historical event that gives the city its name. Between 1833 and 1927 Santa Cruz was the sole capital of the Canary Islands and today is the island and the province. Its port is one of the busiest in the Atlantic; communicates Europe, Africa and America.
In 2012, the British newspaper The Guardian named Santa Cruz the fifth on the list that included the world's best cities in which to live. In the so-called Zona Centro (streets Castillo, San Jose or Viera y Clavijo, among others) or Zona Rambla (Rambla de Pulido, calle Ramón y Cajal ) have many shops.
