We voyages in motor home. No hôtel adresse. We had problème of pick up to go to Athinios port n'y NSD. Maria hello us and do IT possible. Tank you very Mich Maria.
This was a great excursion. It took us on a hike to the highest point of that island, this allowed for amazing views of Santorini. And then Thirasia island was great as well. My only issue was the hot springs; we were not told that only advanced swimmers should swim to the hot springs and we saw other boats were giving out noodles for assidtance. That would have been great. Overall, it was a great experience, loved it. Definitely recommend.
Excellent and very informative. Would highly recommend this tour. Also, definitely go to Captain John's for lunch!
This tour was organized by NST tours. Let me tell you why I hated it. 1. It was boring 2. We had a bus that swayed back and forth going down the windy, steep road to the port in Santorini. 2. Our guide practically ran up the steep and rocky volcano. He didn’t let anyone catch their breath. 3. We got to the top and it was gale force winds. I felt my legs blowing out from under me and had to cling to my husband so I didn’t blow off. There were no guard rails and they NEVER should have taken us up there that day! Very dangerous. 4. Because of winds, we couldn’t go to thermal springs because too big waves so they brought us to a place to jump off the boat and swim for 15 minutes. 5. We went to another island where they told us we could buy lunch at captain jack’s who was waiting for the boat to come in. They had already cooked food that they sold us for 14 euros. If we had been told we could go anywhere and told about other options we could’ve had a variety of freshly prepared food. 6. We arrived back at the port to find a huge traffic jam and no buses. We were made to wait 1.5 hours in the scorching sun on a sidewalk in the middle of traffic. No water. No bathrooms. They knew it would be a long time but the organizers didn’t communicate with us and just herded us like cattle to squeeze together. Had they told us it would be some time, we could have at least gone to the bathroom or taken a cab ourselves even at our own expense. A horrendous experience and 7. When I complained to the tour company they accused ME of being difficult. Skip this!!! Rent a car and go beach hopping! You will love Kamari or Perissa or the red beach!
We were picked up on time and taken to the dock where we boarded our boat. Boats were designated by language(s) spoken by the boat's guide ... a plus! Very scenic views crossing the caldera to Nea Kameni, the volcano mountain. Hike up the volcano was not for those terribly out of shape, especially in hot weather. Dip in the warm springs in nearby Palea Kameni island was ok ... water was just warm - not at all hot. Many good restaurants on Thirassia for lunch. A very good way to spend one of your days on Santorini.
Loved this tour. We sailed in a pirate ship to the volcano and climbed all the way up! need good sneakers and water! The beach stop was ok as there is very little beach for everyone to enjoy. Swimming in the springs was great in the warmer waters. Definitely recommend this tour
Booked the tour through Viator for a reasonable cost. The pick up was prompt about 250 meters from our hotel and was well organised. The one off experience at active volcano with a tour guide was great as experienced the heat and smell coming out of the side of the volcano crater and signs of sulphur around. Then we moved onto to swim in the hot springs of sulphur water, would recommend water shoes to avoid rocky sea bed. The temperature was around 25C.avoid wearing white as sulphur seems to discolour your swim gear. The next stop was Thirassia, the next island for quick lunch and some time to swim. I wasn’t very impressed with the island as came across signs of poop floating in the sea which shoud be looked at but had lot of cafes and restaurants to sit and enjoy the sun and sea views.
It was very cool getting to see the valcano and the hot springs! Definitely a different experience! Make sure you bring a bathing suit!
The tour is excellent value for money. The tour guide spoke really good English and the tour was prompt and right on time. It was probably one of my highlights of my trip to Santorini as you get to see the other islands too whilst having a really relaxing tour ride on the boat. If there is one thing for improvement is the instructions for the changes over the course of the tour, so between the coach and the boats but otherwise it really is an excellent tour :)
The good: The boat ride to the different islands on the Albatross was great! The bad: The speakers/sound system on the boat were terrible. The sound was muffled and not clear. It was difficult to understand what the guide was saying. The ugly: Our tour guide was inconsiderate and not helpful. She provided the tour in three languages I believe, English, French, and another language, which I can't remember. However, when we were on the volcanic island, she didn't make sure that our tour group was together at the various stops going to the top. We arrived at one stop where she had already given some details in English and would not repeat them for us. She basically said that she had already provided the English part and we needed to move on. Again, rude and inconsiderate. We ended up walking up on our own to the crater in hopes we would meet up with her because she never stopped to check on the status of the group. Keep in mind, there were several other tour groups there. Overall, this was a great boat ride, but the lack of information prior boarding the boat, while on the boat, and after departing the boat at each island was terrible and nonexistent in some cases. Also, the hike to the top of the volcano is strenuous. If you're not physically fit, it could be a challenge for you. Again, the tour guide/company didn't seem to care about that and never stopped to make sure the group was together at all times.
This overall tour was enlightening, from the boat ride, the tour guide, the itinerary, staff was informative, comical and accommodating. The tour lasted all day from 8:30 to 6pm, with appropriate lunch breaks in between. The volcanic hike was excellent and worth it, be sure to wear comfortable shoes. There also are alot of people trekking up and down the volcano, so keep this in mind for safety's sake. The tour guide was amazing with great social skills and he spoke several languages, about 7 i think. The sulfur swim was most memorable because you have the option to jump off the boat into the sea or climb down the boat ladder and make the swim over to the cove where you can feel the warm volcanic waters and sulfur beneath your feet.
