Driving time from Tbilisi is max. 2 hours and 45 minutes (one way). 

Davit Gareja cave complex (6th c.) located on the border of Christian Georgia and Muslim Azerbaijan. The monastery exerted significant influence in Georgia, being a center of fresco painting and manuscript rewriting. The area is also home to protected animal species and evidence of some of the oldest human habitations in the region.

You will visit wonderful painted caves and see dramatic views from top of mountain.
