Pass By: DDSG Blue Danube, Franz-Josefs-Kai 2 Schwedenplatz, Vienna 1020 Austria

Discover the Vienna Danube Canal with the small maritime MS Blue Danube. The ship has a nautical flair and an extravagant interior. You cruise in a loop ride starting at the ship station Vienna / City at Schwedenplatz the Danube Canal. On this tour you will see important buildings: Uniqa Tower, Urania Observatory, Badeschiff, hotel and commercial building by Jean Nouvel, Schützenhaus by Otto Wagner, Ringturm, Roßauer barracks, Zaha Hadid House and designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser waste incineration Spittelau.

A sightseeing cruise through Vienna with the DDSG fleet is a special experience. The ship is in the city center, just a few minutes' walk from St. Stephen's Cathedral.

The included menu consists of 2 courses, optionally: soup + main course OR main course + dessert

Winter (01.12.2018 - 28.02.2019):

– Soup with cheese dumpling *OR* Cake with chestnuts

– Sausage dumplings with sauerkraut *OR* Mixed salad leaves with fried salmon fillet pieces and pumpkin

Spring (01.03. – 31.05.2019):
- Spring soup *OR* Cottage cheese dumplings on strawberry mirror
- Grilled meat skewer with chips *OR* Baked mushrooms with tartar sauce

Summer (01.06. – 31.08.2019):
- Mozzarella with tomatoes and basil pesto *OR* Coffee ice cream cake
- Fried chicken salad on mixed salad leaves and pumpkin seed dressing *OR* Tagliatelle with creamed spinach sauce and Parmesan

Autumn (01.09. - 30.11.2019):
- Potato soup with root vegetables and bacon *OR* Warm chocolate cake with chocolate sauce and whipped cream
- Meatballs with mashed potatoes and sauce and cranberries *OR* Pumpkin pappardelle with pesto

This is nothing like the advertisement. Don’t be fooled by the Danube description, it’s more of a canal with views of office and apartment blocks. There was a set 2 course lunch which was very basic and not really appetising. Would not recommend this trip.

The cruise doesn't take you to the main river rather stays in the small canal of Danube. You cannot choose your own seat, they will seat you and the choice of meal is not great. Better to explore Danube on your own.
